“I try to swing the golf club around her as much as possible, so one day I could take her out to the course with me.” And now it seems that avid golf fan, Patrick Mahomes’ daughter, Sterling Skye, is already heading in that direction.
Skye recently tried her hands at golf at her home in KC. In her Instagram story, uploaded on August 12, 2024, Brittany Mahomes let her followers view an adventure of her daughter. In the shared video, holding a golf stick in her hands, Skye aimed for a shot at the tee. However, her first strike was missed as her stick didn’t touch the ball. A little whoops moment, right? Well! It was after all a “practice swing.” Sterling adorably tried to act nonchalant as she looked back at her mom and stressed, “That was a practice swing.” That was a cute excuse though!
This made Brittany laugh, as she wrote a caption in the story: “She really said “that was a practice swing” (with two laughing emojis).” Nevertheless, Brittany motivated and helped her daughter with golf tips, saying, “Okay! Try again. Get back a little bit. Get your feet back.” As Sterling followed her advice, she did miss the second try again but eventually was able to strike the golf ball. The mom of two joined couldn’t hold back and said, “There you go! Now swing.” Skye hit the ball, leaving Brittany to cheer up for her.
This cute activity of little Mahomes made fans go wonderstruck, and even Patrick too, who re-shared this video on his own Instagram account. However, Sterling might not choose to play golf in the future, as she may keep it as a passion like her father, Patrick Mahomes.

“Obviously, I want them to play sports.” Patrick Mahomes ay be an NFL superstar, but he wants his babies to make their names even bigger than him in sports. But which sport will they choose? For Bronze, it’s still some time for him to show his interests in sports, as he is just 1 year and eight months old. However, for Mahomes’ daughter, Sterling Skye, she might follow her mother, Brittany Mahomes’ footsteps, by choosing soccer.
This is evident from a couple of incidents that even when she was just two years old, Skye was showing a natural talent for soccer, just like her mom, Brittany, who played in college. Without any coaching, Sterling started kicking soccer balls into the goal, just from watching games with her parents. Thanks to her genes!
This made Patrick go awestruck, who said, “I didn’t even have to prepare her. We never had taught her to play soccer, but she had watched soccer games with us just from going to the Kansas City Current games, and she literally started just kicking soccer balls into the goal. We never taught her how to kick, never taught her how to play, that’s just who she is.”
Meanwhile, at the thought of his kids following in their parents’ footsteps, Patrick feels thrilled as he wants to see his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren in sports. Patrick can’t help but dream about their future, hoping sports will be a part of their lives too. He said, “Me and Brittany both played sports growing up. I think there’s lots of values that you can learn from playing sports of all kinds.” And hence, he wants them to see them successful in sports.
After all, they are the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren of arguably the current NFL superstar!
