He posted a video of the red design hanging from iconic landmark Tower Bridge.
“Yooo @PatrickMahomes the Mahomes 2 coming in Cleat form?? I need them fasho,” commented one fan.
“We can make it happen,” replied Mahomes with two smiling face wearing sunglasses emojis.
The Mahomes 1, which debuted in 2021, was not made available as cleats, so this would be a huge move for football fans.
His Mahomes 2 Impact Turf shoes retail for $150 on the Adidas website.
There will be plenty of people eagerly awaiting the drop of the cleats.
“Myself, my team and adidas spent over a year perfecting every detail in Mahomes 2, down to the timepiece symbols featured on the first shoe and the zippers on the hoodies,” Mahomes said of his latest shoe, per Kicks’ Pat Benson.
“Our hard work and passion comes to life today, and I can’t wait to see fans rocking the collection.”
“The adidas Mahomes 2 is designed for athletes who crave performance and style,” Benson wrote in February.
“Its synthetic mesh upper hugs the foot for lockdown and support.
“Meanwhile, the REPETITOR midsole cushioning makes each cut, sprint, and jump feel effortless.
“Lastly, the durable rubber outsole provides ultimate traction on any field.”
New England Patriots legend Tom Brady says he wishes he played football more like Mahomes.
Brady recently opened up on the popular The Pivot podcast hosted by Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.
“When I see these young players, I see like Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, running around, laughing, having fun, I’m like, ‘I used to be like that. What the hell happened?’” Brady said.
“I just got too serious, but, again, I can only look back and think, ‘Okay, if I do it again, which I’ll never do it again, I would be different.’ But the reality is, you can’t.”
One of the NFL icon’s former teammates has mocked Brady’s lament.
“I think Brady is a liar,” former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria jokingly said on WEEI radio in Boston.
“When I heard it, I was like, ‘Who’s he kidding? He can’t change.
“He can’t downshift. This is not who he is. He’s not wired like Mahomes’.”
